Concerts and music festivals, traveling to new places and attending social events are my favorite activities. Give me an opportunity to combine these three things together and you can bet that I'll be there with a huge smile on my face.

This past week, my friends at Southwest Airlines gave me the chance to do just that: They sent me on a trip of a lifetime, Sail Across the Sun. It was incredible to travel on Sail Across the Sun with Southwest along with their Rapid Rewards Card Members. I was able to to experience first-hand what it's like being a Southwest Card Holder. These people get access to some of the coolest events, including Sail Across the Sun. Not only did we get to spend the night in New Orleans, enjoying a private dinner along with a show, but we also had access to the Southwest listening lounge on board the ship. The lounge gave us access to acoustic shows during the four day adventure, including an intimate performance by one of my all-time favorite musicians, Michael Franti. We even got to attend a wine tasting with the lead singer of Train, Pat Monahan. When I tell you each and every minute was a "pinch me" moment, I am not exaggerating.

Sail Across the Sun is a four-day cruise experience on a great ship, the Norwegian Pearl, jam-packed with live musical performances by some of the best, funkiest bands in the world. You literally are put on a luxury cruise ship with a bunch of fun-loving, happy people, including artists and musicians from all over. Leaving from New Orleans, we journeyed to Cozumel, Mexico. Beside the sun and the fun on the ship, each and every day was dedicated to great music, new friends and totally off-the-grid relaxation, something I didn't realize I needed so badly. As someone who is on her phone 24/7, limiting access to WiFi and cell service seemed scary, but ended up giving me a break from the fast pace of my daily life, allowing me to recharge and refocus. I took the opportunity to befriend and get to know people I have admired from afar, as a fan. I’m talking about the Southwest and Chase team members, who could not be more warm, welcoming and gracious. More than that, though, I became friends with world-famous musicians I've been following on Instagram for years. By the time the magical trip returned to port in “Nawlins", I had formed friendships which will persist and enrich me for years to come. Thanks to email and social media, I can stay friends with Robert Randolph and the Family Band, a group of folks whose music transcends generations – like my parents, I find their music and warmth intoxicating. Do yourself a favor and give them a listen.

There is a very special place in my heart for Southwest Airlines, as most of you may know.
All in all, this trip was one for the books. I ate too much, drank to much, danced too much, smiled and laughed just enough, and made an insane amount of new friends.
Sail Across the Sun with Southwest Airlines was definitely one of my best trips, yet.

For those of you who have been bitten by the travel bug and also happen to have a serious love for music, I highly recommend looking into joining the Rapid Rewards family.

<![CDATA[City Furniture at Midtown]]>Thu, 07 Dec 2017 08:00:00 GMThttp://emiliesobel.com/blog/city-furniture-at-midtown
Thank you to City Furniture for sponsoring this blog post.

Exactly one year ago, I moved into my fabulous South Beach apartment.
The timing of my move was perfect. My parents had just redone their house and had replaced their old furniture with updated pieces, which meant I got to take the hand-me-downs back to my place. As a young renter on a budget, this was ideal. As the months passed, I became more and more ready to furnish my home with things a bit more personalized to my taste. Once again, the timing couldn't have been better as City Furniture opened it's doors in Midtown, just walking distance from my office and right in the heart of Miami.

Like any twenty-something year old girl living in South Florida, I love to be surrounded by beautiful things, in my life and especially in my home. If I'm going to come back to my apartment at the end of the long day, I need my couch to be comfy, my bed to be heavenly and overall, my apartment needs to fit my aesthetic. It's times like these where I'm thankful to have City Furniture.
The showroom is jam-packed with anything and everything stylish and affordable. From the first-time renter, to the home-owning veteran, City Furniture caters to all of us. Personally, I was looking for budget friendly furniture that I would be excited to come home to, and believe me when I say that I truly found it at City. The assorted boho pieces in the showroom were definitely
some of my favorites, but I really loved that there were so many options to choose from. Whether your aesthetic is more modern, traditional or a little bit of both, you really can find it all!

The store is stunning, the staff is so friendly, and I almost forget to mention that there is a wine bar perfectly placed right in the center of the showroom. You get to browse and shop while sipping on a nice glass of Pinot Noir. Tell me that doesn't sound incredible.

Welcome to Midtown, City Furniture! Everyone Can Live Like This!

<![CDATA[Live in the Vineyard with Southwest Airlines]]>Wed, 08 Nov 2017 08:00:00 GMThttp://emiliesobel.com/blog/live-in-the-vineyard-with-southwest-airlines
Travel has been a central focus of my life from my earliest memories.
From a young age, my parents encouraged me to see as much of the world as I possibly could. I remember going all over, from my first solo trip visiting grandparents in Atlanta to the first time I saw New York City, stayed at one of the world’s great hotels – which sent a cart full of ice cream to our room to make up for a minor snafu. In fact, I did not want to leave The Big Apple. At five years old, I declared to my parents: “The next time we come here, I’m gluing my butt to the seat so I can stay!". I loved it so much, I cried the entire flight home.
Then there were ski trips to Colorado and Utah where I fell in love with mountains – and the crisp winter air missing from my hometown. Trips to Europe (Italy, Spain, France) all spoiled me. As I grew, I travelled to visit my life-long girlfriends as well as college buddies, all over this wonderfully diverse country. All of my travel related memories have stuck with me. The love of travel, imbued in my being, led me to choose a career which would allow me to explore the world as often as I could. I've been so lucky since the job I adore actually has me continuing to travel a fair amount. Last month, Salt Lake City and, most recently, what became one of my very favorite places on the planet: Napa Valley, California.

Southwest Airlines made this last trip possible.
Actually, I've had a special relationship with Southwest Airlines for quite a while now.
It all started when I flew with them on my birthday about two years ago. No one particularly enjoys being on an airplane on their special day, but I chose to hop on a flight to Nashville with my Mom and Aunt the year I turned 24. We flew Southwest, and let me tell you, the flight was almost as much fun as our trip itself. The attendants had the whole plane sing happy birthday, they delivered us Bloody Mary’s and had me wear a crown the entire trip. I felt so special – it truly made my day. After that experience, I went ahead and shared the video on my Twitter, only to come home two weeks later to basically a lifetime supply of Southwest drink tickets and a cooler to match. Totally unnecessary from Southwest, since their friendly ticketing and baggage policies, new planes, friendly staff (on the phone, at the airport and on the planes) earned my loyalty without any need for those perks.

Nevertheless, that gesture sealed the deal for me. I did not feel like one of a million travelers. I felt like Southwest valued my business. They earned my loyalty. I fell in love with Southwest Airlines. From then on, for every single trip I've had to book, Southwest has been my go-to. From the free first checked bag to the customer service, this airline is truly the best.

Fast-forward two years later. Let me tell you about my latest unforgettable experience with Southwest Airlines. Unsolicited, my friends at Southwest sent me to Napa Valley, California for the Live in the Vineyard Festival. A four day event held in wine country, I cannot even begin to tell you how incredible this trip was.

Scroll down to read all about my weekend at Live in the Vineyard with Southwest Airlines!
Our trip began with us leaving Fort Lauderdale, flying non-stop to Oakland, California and driving the scenic route out to Napa. As soon as we dropped our things off in our hotel room, we made our way to Castillo di Amorosa for dinner with Southwest and a surprise performance by Fergie! How did I luck into this? The setting alone was a dream, surrounded by vineyards and a castle, I had no words to explain how warm this welcome was.
We woke up on Friday morning and made our way to the Peju Province Winery where we had a delicious lunch and enjoyed a live performance by the band AJR. With plenty of wine and photo opportunities, this was an ideal Friday lunchtime scenario in Napa.
Friday night found ourselves at Napa's Uptown Theater watching live, acoustic performances by Julia Michaels, HAIM, Sara Evans, the incredible ZZ Ward (my Dad told me I’d love her) and more. With the weekend flying by, we awoke on Saturday morning and made our way to the Sutter Homes Family Winery. Here we enjoyed wines, cheeses and a live performance by Leanne Rimes. From Sutter we headed to the Reynold's Family Winery for lunch. Ridiculous! After a private tour of the winery, we sat down and ate while Keelan Donovan sang for us in a private acoustic performance.
If you're a music lover like I am, this was definitely a "pinch me" experience.
Saturday night was spent at the Uptown Theater once again for round 2 of the live acoustic performances. This time, we enjoyed music from nationally renowned bands including The Revivalists (Mom’s favorite) and the All American Rejects. There's just something about sitting in a small theater and listening to your favorite artists that changes the way you hear music. Truly a music event I will never, ever forget.

So, Southwest, I pledge my undying love for you treating me to this experience and being the best airline in the sky. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

<![CDATA[Lip Fillers at Arviv Aesthetics: My Honest Experience]]>Thu, 19 Oct 2017 19:42:41 GMThttp://emiliesobel.com/blog/lip-fillers-at-arviv-aesthetics-my-honest-experience
As we march toward the 2017 Holiday Season (Halloween is next week with Thanksgiving and Christmas close behind), it seems like almost every woman over the age of 18 is starting to experiment with fillers and non-surgical cosmetic procedures. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't one of those people.

As usual, I'm going to be 100% honest. When I was 15 years old, during Spring Break of my sophomore year of high school, I went under the knife for the first time and got a nose-job. I was one of the first girls in my grade to have plastic surgery. This was a procedure I had wanted for a long time and one which with I had long been familiar. As a young Jewish woman, the majority of ladies in my family also had rhinoplasty around the same age. Rightly or wrongly, the shape of my nose affected me and my self-confidence in those formative teenage years. So, as soon as I had the opportunity, I seized it. To this day, my nose-job was one of the best things I have ever done for myself. I never kept it a secret and openly shared my experience with my friends and family after wards. It changed my perception of myself and my self-image and my self-esteem both blossomed. I learned from a young age that what people think of me is often inaccurate and should not overly-influence my decisions. However, since I was doing this for me and only me, then it was totally okay.

Fast forward to the age of 25 and I've now had my lips done three times. This is the only other cosmetic procedure I've undergone so far, and let me tell you that it has also been one of the better decisions I've made when it comes to building my self-confidence. It’s subtle (even my Dad didn’t notice until my Mom gave up the secret), but makes a difference.

I am extremely public on social media, so for those of you who follow along, you already know that I had my lips done at Arviv Aesthetics in Miami back in August. I made the choice to “get needled” when the fillers I had done in November dissolved. While I know that my lips were fine before I had them filled, couldn’t they be better? Fillers do not last forever, so I decided to just go for it.

Below, I'm sharing my open and honest experience of what it was like getting my lips done at Arviv. I've received an overwhelming amount of questions, so scroll down to take a behind the scenes look of before, after and even during my procedure!

For this particular procedure I decided to get Juvéderm in both my top and bottom lip.
Dr. Arviv used an entire syringe. The first time I had my lips done, I was a bit nervous, so I only did my top lip and used half of a syringe. Going into this session, though, I knew what to expect and exactly what I wanted.

I need to emphasize that Dr. Arviv is absolutely incredible.
She spent time with me asking me really important questions. What did I want? What filler did I want to use? How would I like to be numbed? She made me seem as if I were her only patient that mattered and that she had all the time in the world. This alone was so comforting. I instantly knew that I could trust Dr. Arviv with my lips, and anything else for that matter.

Do Lip Fillers Hurt?
Depending on your pain tolerance and whether or not you are comfortable with needles, lip fillers are really not that painful. The word I would use to describe the experience is: uncomfortable. I chose to get a dental block to numb my lips. Dr. Arviv went in with the numbing substance with a needle through my inner gums on the top left and right, bottom left and right corners of my mouth. Within seconds the entire bottom half of my face was numb and I could not feel a thing. That was the worst part, but it was quick. And again, it was mostly the discomfort of knowing where the needle was injecting.

How Long Do Fillers Last?
Lip Fillers typically last about 4-6 months. Now in October, my lips are the perfect shape and size and feel completely normal, but look incredibly full.

I am the type of person that bruises worse than a peach. I always have bruises up and down my legs, so the swelling was pretty bad. My mom told me I looked like a duck for the first two weeks, however, I kind of liked it especially when I was going for a "no makeup look." After two weeks, the swelling was gone.

Follow Up at Arviv
Two weeks after my procedure I want back to Arviv for a follow up. Dr. Arviv noticed that my fillers looked a bit uneven. To be honest, I did not even notice until she said something. We decided to go back in with the filler and even them out, this time without any numbing. It was a bit painful, but nothing too bad. My lips instantly felt different and I could tell that the filler was now breaking up where it had built up in my lips.

So Worth It
Trepidation behind me, knowing what to expect, knowing how quickly I heal, I love Dr. Arviv and what she has done for me. I highly recommend visiting the Arviv offices if you are considering getting your lips done.

<![CDATA[Shore Club Staycation]]>Tue, 15 Aug 2017 07:00:00 GMThttp://emiliesobel.com/blog/shore-club-staycation
I am a huge fan of the "stay-cation."
In a city like Miami, there is a plethora of cool, new hotels with amazing architecture and amenities. Everywhere you turn, a chic new spot, offering imaginative services has popped up. I live in the heart of South Beach, so rarely do I spend the night any place other than my own apartment.
However, when Shore Club opened it's doors to Rachael (Summer of Diane) and me, saying: “Yes, thank you” was a no-brainer!!

Sometimes, it's just nice to get away from your daily routine, without leaving your hometown.
As a hard working twenty-five year old, I often have to remind myself to take a few deep breaths and just relax. Nothing promotes that relaxation than a hotel robe, a balcony and some chilled champagne, so I took the Shore Club up on its invitation to enjoy a piece of heaven on Earth – a mile from home.

Rachael and I were quick to change out of our clothes, pop open a bottle of Moet Chandon and spend some quality time outside enjoying our ocean front view. With girlfriends like Rachael, it's easy to forget about the real world and just have some fun. The weekend of our staycation happened to fall during the very busy Miami Swim Week, so it surely was nice to have a luxurious and elegant crash-pad so close to the events and parties.

If you're ever traveling to Miami or simply looking to spend some downtime outside of your home, I highly recommend checking out Shore Club! Not only is it clean and comfortable, but there are Instagram-worthy spots at every nook and cranny in the hotel and the service is impeccable.
The Shore Club is the perfect spot for getting away without leaving!

<![CDATA[Swim Week 2017]]>Tue, 25 Jul 2017 19:05:53 GMThttp://emiliesobel.com/blog/swim-week-2017
For as long as I can remember, I've been attending Swim Week in Miami.
I've always loved that Miami gets to have its very own Fashion Week, dedicated to what the city knows best - swimwear. This is an event to which I look forward every year, blocking my calendar, making sure that my travel plans skip July and picking out my outfits weeks in advance. I've been around for the big changes in The Week, and I've enjoyed hundreds of shows, parties and pop-ups. Based on years of experience, I can honestly tell you the secret behind a successful Swim Week. The key to success is not being front row, it's not being on every guest list and it's not being the "prettiest" or "skinniest" in the crowd. The secret? Having a solid group of friends with whom you can run around.

Like any Fashion Week, Swim Week is a great mix of work and play. With fun comes the stress; constantly making sure your timing is right, the weather isn't too hot or rainy and that you're choosing the right event to attend - especially because so many inviting events overlap. I'm not going to lie, Major League FOMO drives me to be everywhere at all times. I tend to get frustrated easily when there are lines or issues with transportation, guest lists, or other glitches. This year's Swim Week definitely challenged my patience, but at the end of the day, because I was with a group of my faves every step of the way, I had an amazing time.

In keeping with our Swim Week tradition, once again Christine and Gant joined me. Our little squad was enhanced with Rachael, AKA Summer of Diane and Arden. It was the perfect mix of friends, all creative, passionate, ready for anything and, of course, constantly looking for the perfect picture for Instagram.
We took shelter from Miami’s version of global warming at the Shore Club, my favorite South Beach hotel, within walking distance from the shows and parties, and stuck together until Monday morning. It was a fun and exhausting week of activities.
While I'm so happy to be getting back to reality (and rest), I already can't wait until next year.

<![CDATA[Tiffany HardWear Collection]]>Tue, 11 Jul 2017 07:00:00 GMThttp://emiliesobel.com/blog/tiffany-hardwear-collection
As most girls do, I have a great love for all things jewelry.
From a young age, I remember fawning over my Mom's beautiful collection of earrings, bracelets, necklaces and rings. I felt just as excited as she was when my Dad would come home with a little Blue Box, knowing that one day, whatever was in that box, would be mine. Just one of the perks of having parents with really fabulous taste. As I got older, my personal collection began to grow. When I became a Bat Mitzvah at 13 years old, I received my very first piece from Tiffany and Co., an extravagant, although not uncommon gift for young Jewish girls growing up in the luxuries of Miami Beach. Don't worry, these gifts were never anything I took for granted. I'll never forget the chain lock bracelet I received from a loving relative, and it was years before I took it off and tucked it away into a jewelry box.

My love for collecting jewelry has certainly not waned. I've always understood how lucky I was to get to wear Tiffany and Co. from such a young age. The presents and hand-me-downs I have been so fortunate to receive are special both for their beauty and the meaning behind each special gift from a loved one.

Now that I'm older, my love for fine jewelry has grown and I'm able to treat myself to my own little blue boxes, just in time for the latest collection from Tiffany and Co. -- the HardWear collection. The Collection is so to my taste that I would swear the fiercely feminine pieces from this collection were made specifically for me. Because of my edgier style, sometimes the classic look doesn't really work with what I wear. Wearing jewelry is, of course, very personal. However, the new Tiffany HardWear pieces carry wide appeal. They are elegantly understated, fitting me and my personality just right.

Next time you're looking to treat yourself, or a special someone is hoping to surprise you with a gift, be sure to check out the Tiffany HardWear collection. Don't be surprised if you end up falling in love with the Blue Box and what’s nestled inside

<![CDATA[The Fresh Market Comes to CityPlace Doral]]>Wed, 24 May 2017 15:36:49 GMThttp://emiliesobel.com/blog/the-fresh-market-comes-to-city-place-doral
I love that The Fresh Market is around the corner from where I live.
Growing up, I was raised on a pretty healthy and organic diet.
My parents served salad as part of virtually every meal and always made sure we ate our vegetables (usually broccoli) before enjoying dessert. Now, a few weeks shy from my 25th birthday, my parents’ lessons are firmly engrained in my personality. I still eat in pretty much the same way. This habit of incorporating healthy and fresh fruits, vegetables and meats is something I never think twice about. That’s why I’m so glad that Fresh Market is right there. Every Monday afternoon, you can find me at my local Fresh Market sourcing my groceries for the week ahead.

I was one of the very first people that got to enjoy The Fresh Market grand opening of their newest Florida location in CityPlace Doral. Even though there’s one down the street from my apartment, I loved the idea of being among the first in a sparkling, brand new, state-of-the-art store.

We made our way into the beautiful store, big enough to get lost in, but so well organized so as not to be too overwhelming. The staff was welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly, passing out samples of famous Fresh Market items like their delicious banana bread and apple pie. Beyond the food, the space alone will have you coming back again and again. A modern take on the classic store, you can tell that the team behind The Fresh Market is up to date on what people not only want to eat, but how we want to shop.

If you're in the Doral area this weekend, be sure to stop by to check out, sample and shop the new digs! The Fresh Market will also be hosting a fabulous Memorial Day Weekend sampling event May 27th and 28th, with fresh-off-the-grill bites and a special holiday weekend discount. See you there!
